I have ported Jerry White's "BassNotes in BASIC" to ACTION! This is a small program that demonstrates using the Atari's sound distortion level 12. Today I was reading the Atari 5200 / 8-bit Programming forum over at Atari Age and saw a message regarding an ACTION! compiler for Windows. Unlike the Effectus project, which converts ACTION! source to MADS assembly source, this project will eventually compile ACTION! source to Atari 8-Bit binary.

I find this project more interesting because I too have been working on my own ACTION! compiler project. My project is currently running as a command line tool in a Terminal window on Mac OS X. No Atari binary is being created at this time as I am still working on the parser but seeing this forum post is making me feel pressure to spend more time on it.

Being a fan of ACTION! it makes me happy to know that there are others also interested in this great little programming language. I have added this new project to the Links page.
